Lessons and Carols Christmas Eve Service at 7 P.M.

Please join The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit located at 150 Lions Drive in Elk Grove Village, next to Elk Grove High School to celebrate a Christmas Eve "Lessons and Carols." The service begins at 7PM.

"Nine Lessons and Carols" is a Christian worship service traditionally celebrated on or near Christmas Eve.

The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books, and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols and hymns.

The tradition began at King's College in Oxford, England to bring joy during World War I and continued its popularity in American Protestant churches. Come find joy this Christmas Eve at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit.

Any questions, please contact the church office at 847-437-5897 or Larry Herforth at 708 -977-3896
