Wheaton College hosts Nov. 12 lecture on 'Faith, Hope, & Love'

On Saturday, Nov. 12, the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Wheaton College presents "Faith, Hope, & Love: A Foundation of Flourishing Couples," a lecture by Gary Chapman, Jen Ripley, and Cameron Lee.

This free event, open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. in Billy Graham Center, Room 105 Barrows Auditorium, 500 College Ave. in Wheaton.

These three guests will share wisdom and knowledge derived from the integration of Christian faith and systemic theory.

It is part of "A Foundation of Flourishing Couples Family Systems Conference," a daylong conference that will equip attendees to foster healthy and whole relationships among individuals, couples, and families within their communities.

Chapman, Lee and Ripley will each give an address regarding clinical and community implications of the integration of Faith (Lee), Hope (Ripley), and Love (Chapman).

Ripley is an expert on the integration of psychology and Christian thought and the author of book "Hope Focused Marriage Counseling." She has published 57 refereed articles and 183 professional refereed conference presentations and has chaired over 50 dissertations. She has two published books on Christian marriage for counselors and pastors and one under contract.

Lee has been a member of the Marriage and Family program faculty at Fuller University since 1986. While teaching marriage and family studies courses at Fuller, he also speaks off-campus as a certified family life educator. He also teaches and preaches regularly in church settings.

Chapman is an experienced and well-respected family counselor, and a well-known author having written more than 40 books.
