Huntley Rotary hosts inaugural Running of the Elves 5K Run/Walk Dec. 3

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Rotary Club of Huntley is hosting the first Running of the Elves during the Very Merry Huntley holiday celebration.

Race-day registration opens at 8:30 a.m. in the Betsey Warrington Park pavilion, 12209 W. Main St. in Huntley.

The half-mile Dash For Kids will begin at 10 a.m. for ages 5 to 12. It will be followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 10:30 a.m. and the 1-mile run/walk at 10:45 a.m.

The race will benefit the local charities: Grafton Food Pantry, local high school and international scholarships, and Veterans Path to Hope.

An Elf hat and Elf-styled T-shirt is reserved for the first 200 who register by Monday, Nov. 7. Additional Elf hats are available for sale for $10.

Early bird registration is $30 for the 5K, $20 for the one-mile walk, or $5 for the half-mile dash. Save 15% off registration when registering 4 or more family members.

Registration fees increase $5 on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
