A Great Reward: Local Principal and Teachers Silly Stringed by Students after Accomplishing Fundraiser Goal

St. Hubert Catholic School Principal Mrs. Julie Martin, teachers Mr. Andrew Llaneza and Ms. Laurie Pierce all were covered with silly string after the Hoffman Estates school celebrated its 43rd Annual Track-A-Thon Fundraiser.

This fundraiser, which raised over $30,000 for the school, had its goal set at $26,500. With this goal being set, Principal Julie Martin knew she needed an incentive for families and members of the parish to donate. So, she decided to let everyone know that if that goal was reached, each student in kindergarten through eighth grade would have the chance to spray silly string at Martin.

So when that goal was reached, students were obviously excited and many could not wait for that day to happen. So, on Friday, September 30th, the school gathered outside to celebrate the special occasion. Along with Martin, teachers Andrew Llaneza and Laurie Pierce also volunteered to take part. So, with more than 50 cans of Silly String and protective goggles, the trio were sprayed by almost 250 kids, in all grades, who enjoyed taking part in the celebration. The reward was so great for many kids, and the fact that the goal was accomplished was even better.
