Unplug at Northbrook Park District's Family Campout

Northbrook Park District is celebrating Unplug Illinois Day, a state-wide initiative of Illinois Park and Recreation Association, with a Family Campout!

Families are invited to bring their tents and enjoy a mini adventure in Village Green Park, located at the corner of Meadow and Shermer in downtown Northbrook, from 7 p.m. Saturday, July 9 to 9 a.m. Sunday, July 10. The festivities include music, games, s'mores and a movie at sundown along with breakfast in the morning.

"Unplug Illinois Day is all about helping people disconnect from their devices while enjoying a variety of recreational activities in community parks," said Recreation Division Manager Katie Kotloski. "What better way to unplug than by spending an evening beneath the stars surrounded by the beauty of Village Green Park?"

An "undernight" option is also available 7-11p.m., for participants who wish to enjoy the activities without staying overnight.

The fee for a family of four for the overnight is $125 for residents and $159 for nonresidents. Undernight pricing is $75 for a family of four for residents and $95 for nonresidents. If families are bringing more than 4 people, additional attendees can be registered for $20 per person for residents and $25 per person for non-residents. Space is limited! Register at nbparks.org.
