Gary UMC in Wheaton hires new child care coordinator

Graceanne (Grace) Ryken is the new child care coordinator at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton.

Ryken will oversee volunteer schedules, supplies, Parent's Night Out, Summer Playgroup and general child care needs.

She will also be in the nursery most Sundays to greet families and care for the little ones.

Ryken is pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wheaton College. Before attending Wheaton College, she taught with United Christians International-Haiti, interned with Global Partners, and worked with the Waterloo County Health Department and Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resource Center. You might recognize her as a barista from My Half of the Sky.

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, offers a 9 a.m. Sunday service in the sanctuary, complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org.
