Wheaton Garden Club to host plant sale May 14

The Wheaton Garden Club is hosting a flower and plant sale on Saturday, May 14.

The sale will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at 504 Hamilton Drive, in the High Knob subdivision in Wheaton.

The sale will feature professionally grown annuals many of which are Proven Winners.

Summer favorites available for purchase include a variety of begonias, coleus and petunias, as well as some hard-to-find specialty plants.

Proceeds support area community organizations and scholarships for College of DuPage horticulture, environmental studies or botany and biology students.

Organizations supported include the Cosley Zoo Foundation, Illinois Prairie Path, and the Willowbrook Wildlife Center.

The Wheaton Garden Club will be accepting cash or check payments.

The mission of the Wheaton Garden Club is to stimulate interest in gardening, conservation, and civic beautification. In the spring of 2021, club members planted a pollinator garden at Seven Gables Park in Wheaton. It has been certified as a Monarch Waystation with Monarch Watch.

The club, founded on May 30, 1925, is a member of the National Council of State Gardens Clubs and a charter member of the Garden Clubs of Illinois Inc.
