Pino Farina Band makes its return to Durty Nellie's

Durty Nellie's in Palatine welcomes back alt-rockers Pino Farina Band to its stage for the first time in 15 years at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. As part of the celebration, all attendees are eligible to win a solo private concert event by lead singer and guitarist Pino Farina.

The band, formerly known both as Pünsapaya and Dearborn, won the Chicago Music Award in 2005 for Rock Album of the Year, and played Durty Nellie's on April 1, 2006. A short time later, they stepped away from the music scene altogether.

Taking what turned out to be a 10-year hiatus became a time of rediscovery as musicians, husbands and a father. They continued to write and record separately and together for the pure joy and therapy of it.

Stepping back on the stage in 2018 and gaining exponential popularity during the pandemic due to their sometimes four-hour livestreams, Pino Farina Band has often been described by their fans as "the silver lining" of these challenging times.

Join in the passion and energy of Pino Farina Band as they perform original songs from their four albums and covers from Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, Black Pumas and David Bowie, among others.

Durty Nellie's is at 180 N. Smith St., in Palatine.
