Out of Eden Walk-Chicago hosts first HomeStories Run Jan. 30

On Sunday, Jan. 30, from noon to 2 p.m., Out of Eden Walk-Chicago and Read & Run Chicago are teaming up to bring the very first HomeStories Run to the Chicago community.

Participants will complete a 5K and share stories of home.

Out of Eden Walk-Chicago is a grass-roots program that encourages residents to learn about Chicago neighborhoods through civic walks, digital forums, and an interactive map of crowdsourced HomeStories. Read & Run Chicago is a running experience with routes inspired by books, bringing stories to life.

What are HomeStories, and what's a HomeStories Run?

Out of Eden Walk-Chicago's HomeStories project is a digital storytelling platform where anyone around the world can post stories sharing where they feel most at home and answer questions Paul Salopek often asks people he meets on the Walk: Who are you, where are you from, and where are you going?

In the spirit of the HomeStories project, Out of Eden Walk-Chicago and Read & Run Chicago are inviting the Chicago community to submit their answers to the question, "Where do you feel most at home in Chicago?" They will craft a running route that follows these answers.
