Fellowship Housing for single moms expands to McHenry County

Fellowship Housing exists to empower struggling single moms in our community to build a new legacy. They offer two years of safe and affordable transitional housing to moms and their children, including financial training, accountability and a focused path from financial crisis to long-term stability.

The work began in 1991 when three local families formed Fellowship Housing as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which provided subsidized housing for families in need in the community. In 1997, housing was purchased and established in Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg and in 2018 housing was expanded to Elgin. And now it's time to expand once again.

Over the past 4 years, their vision has been to find every motivated single mom in the area and empower them to build a new legacy for their family. This has led to a 33% increase in the number of moms served. But many moms are too far away from our current housing in Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg and Elgin. They simply cannot reach the hand Fellowship Housing is holding out to help them. They believe that's unacceptable and it's time to do something about it!

Over 87% Fellowship Housing graduates either purchase their own home or rent on their own with no outside assistance. Nearly all graduate debt-free with a healthy savings account. Single moms who trust Fellowship Housing are successful in creating a new legacy for their children.

Fellowship Housing will be expanding their reach into McHenry County in August.
