Schaumburg Library Presents 'The Beauty of Skin in Every Color'

Adults are welcome to learn about the inspiration behind "Humanae," a photographic work by artist Angélica Dass during "The Beauty of Skin in Every Color" from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, June 13 on Zoom with the Schaumburg Township District Library.

The artist's photography challenges how we think about skin color and ethnic identity. In this personal talk, participants will hear about her pursuit to document humanity's true colors rather than the white, red, black and yellow associated with race.

Registration is required to participate in this online program. Register at www.SchaumburgLibrary.org to receive the Zoom link, or watch the event live streamed at SchaumburgLibrary.tv.

This program is offered in support of "The Bias Inside Us" on exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution until Sunday, June 27 on the first and second floor of the Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Road.

The Schaumburg Township District Library has locations in Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park. For questions about “The Beauty of Skin in Every Color” or other library programs, call the library at (847) 985-4000.
