Free Kite Day to take off at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church
Family fun is ready to take flight at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley as it launches its first family Kite Day on Saturday, April 24, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the church lawn.
"We invite families and their children to join us during this free fun outdoor activity," said Tessa De Long, children and family ministry director at the church. "After a long winter and staying indoors, there's no better time than now to reach for the skies and just have fun together to celebrate the spring season."
Participants are encouraged to bring their own kites to the event, but Shepherd of the Prairie church also will provide free kites, too. Music also will be provided to add more fun to the festivities.
