Week of the Young Child Begins Soon at Schaumburg Library

A variety of fun programs will take place to celebrate the "Week of the Young Child" from Monday, April 12 through Thursday, April 15 online with the Schaumburg Township District Library. Most programs are geared toward 3-5 year-olds, however the first program also welcomes 2-year-olds. Caregivers must be present with participants. Register at SchaumburgLibrary.org to get the Zoom link and Program Kit. Each kit contains materials for a craft or to engage with program activities.

The Week of the Young Child begins with "Music Monday," from 1-2 p.m., Monday, April 12. Children ages 2-5 years will make their own tambourines, learn about music, dance and play.

"Tasty Tuesday"takes place from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, April 13 and gives children ages 3-5 the opportunity to make and explore foods from around the world.

On "Work Together Wednesday," children ages 3-5 will engage in popsicle STEAM activities from 1-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 14.

The celebration concludes with "Artsy Thursday" from 10-10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 15. Children ages 3-5 years will hear a story and create a work of art that celebrates Earth Day.
