Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital achieves Magnet Recognition for nursing
Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital has achieved Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence. The designation from The American Nurses Credentialing Center is the highest honor for professional nursing practice, and only about 8% of hospitals across the nation achieve this recognition.
"This honor celebrates the high-quality care our nurses provide patients every day," said Dr. Kumar Nathan, president of Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. "Our nurses collaborate with other members of our health care team to create personalized care plans that are unique to every individual. Magnet recognition reflects our commitment to providing the best experience to every patient who chooses us for care."
Hospitals voluntarily go through the ANCC's rigorous review process to demonstrate their commitment to patients and to nurses. Patients benefit from the advanced care provided by Magnet-recognized organizations, and nurses seek employment at hospitals that make their professional growth and satisfaction a priority.
"We are so proud of the ways our nurses combine the science of medicine and the art of relationship-based nursing," said Kim Armour, chief nurse executive and vice president at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. "Since our hospital opened in 2016, we've created a trusting environment that encourages each of us to bring our best to work each day. Our nurses achieve advanced certifications and degrees to ensure patients receive the best-possible care. Magnet recognizes the consistency and professionalism we bring to work each day, and shows Northwestern Medicine's dedication to bringing world-class care close to where our patients live and work."
