Naperville Fort Payne DAR Chapter announces 3 scholarship opportunities

Naperville's Fort Payne Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is offering three scholarships to graduating high school seniors this year.

The first scholarship opportunity is the $1,000 Fort Payne Education Scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior who will be pursuing a profession in education. Deadline is March 1.

The second scholarship is the Webster Scholarship offered to a graduating senior with a career direction utilizing math, science or technology. Deadline is March 13.

Fort Payne will be awarding two $1,000 Webster scholarships to deserving seniors.

Students may apply for both scholarships but will only be selected to receive one or the other.

These scholarships are being offered to seniors graduating from the six Naperville area high schools (Benet Academy, Waubonsie, Neuqua, Metea, Naperville North, and Naperville Central).

Applications and information can be found through the schools' guidance offices or on the Naperville DAR Facebook page at www.facebook.com/NapervilleDAR.

Students also may submit their applications and documentation to fortpayne@gmail.com. Applicants should take care to follow the exact instructions and due dates for the respective scholarships as shown on the individual applications.

In addition to Fort Payne's scholarships, there are also scholarships at the NSDAR State and District levels and more than 25 scholarships administered through the NSDAR each year.
