'Culinary Interludes' to benefit Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra

The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra is hosting "Culinary Interludes," an online cooking experience.

Enjoy four nights of cooking, music, and more. You can choose one evening or all four.

On four consecutive Saturdays, be amazed by the talents of culinary masters from BleuRoot in West Dundee, Balmoral Restaurant in Campton Hills, Blue Goose Market in St. Charles, and Chef Lainy of Priority Events catering.

The virtual culinary experience will premiere at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. The other event dates are Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and 13.

The fun doesn't stop with the food. Participants will mingle with "celebrity" guests and experience the EYSO with performances by the honors chamber ensembles. There also will be "door" prizes. Join them on Zoom for a chance to win.

Receive an EYSO signature bamboo cooking utensil for each week you purchase (local or remote).

BleuRoot's specialty will be sherried chicken and wild rice pancake; Blue Goose, ratatouille; Priority Events, pollo guisado; and Balmoral Restaurant, Campsie Glen Chicken.

When purchasing tickets, choose "Local" if you can pick up your "Experience" package, or "Remote" if you don't live locally and will shop for ingredients.

To purchase tickets, visit www.eyso.org/culinary-interludes. Gift certificates are available.

Serving students in fourth grade through college-age, the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra has nearly 400 students from more than 70 communities in the Chicago area. Each ensemble offers its members opportunities to perform, learn, and collaborate in a fair and welcoming environment.
