Adopt-an-Older Adult During Holidays: Join the #GivingTuesday Movement and Support the Center of Concern

Adopt-an-Older Adult during the holidays as part of the Center of Concern annual #GivingTuesday program. #GivingTuesday happens globally each year the Tuesday after Thanksgiving as a way to start the holiday season by positively impacting the local community and charitable causes.

Adopt-an-Older Adult on or before #GivingTuesday on December 1 and help the Center of Concern combat loneliness of older adults within the community. As social contacts decline with age, and with the increased risks associated with COVID-19, the effects of isolation are devastating. By supporting this program a compassionate Center of Concern volunteer--while safely social distancing--will deliver a beautiful poinsettia plant to an older adult to be enjoyed throughout the season. Donations for this program are being accepted any time in the month of November and especially on #GivingTuesday on December 1.

"Each day, I witness the importance of our mission as older adults find support and comfort from programs and services to overcome daily hardships and live with dignity and independence. The Adopt-an-Older Adult program brings joy to our volunteers and older adults alike in the spirit of the holiday season," said Center of Concern Executive Director John McNabola.

The Center of Concern is pleased to announce that the RRF Foundation for Aging (formerly The Retirement Research Foundation) will match donations for the Adopt-an-Older Adult program up to $5,000.
