Join in Bike & Winter Outerwear Drive Sept. 26 in Roselle

A Bike & Winter Outerwear Drive is scheduled to take place in Roselle from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Roselle Village Hall parking lot, 31 S. Prospect St.

Working Bikes Cooperative will be onsite to collect bikes and bicycle parts, and Maddie's Mitten March will receive donations of winter outwear, including coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, and boots.

To promote the safety of vendors and participants, this will be a drive-thru contactless donation event.

Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles while making donations and to wear face coverings as necessary when interacting with vendors.

Working Bikes' mission is to give new life to old bikes and independence to those who ride them, in the underserved communities of Chicago, Africa and Central & South America.

Both Working Bikes and Maddie's Mitten March have participated in the village-sponsored Roselle Recycles event for the past several years.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roselle Recycles is canceled for 2020 and will not be held this fall. Additional recycling resources are available on the village's website at www.roselle.il.us/recycling.
