Cary-Grove Rotary gives donation to local food pantry

Members of the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove present a donation check for $1,000 to the Cary-Grove Food Pantry, located at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church in Cary.

Funds for the presentation were raised at the club's Steak Fry, which was held at Cary's Main Street Fest this past September.

A special thanks to all those who attended that event, which made this donation possible.

This holiday season, the club also supported the Cary-Grove High School Interact Club and their "Letters to Santa" project. Every Rotary club member took one or more Santa letters and bought gifts for the young letter writers. The school's project fulfilled 830 wishes in the "Letters to Santa" project. They packed a 20-foot truck from Chicago Public Schools with gifts for these children.

The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove's membership is a diverse group of individuals that work together to improve the communities of Cary and Fox River Grove.

If you are interested in learning more, or in getting involved, come as a guest to one of the breakfast meetings. The club meets from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursdays at the Cary Park District Community Center, 255 Briargate Road
