Local bank invests in Glenbard East INCubator program

West Suburban Bank is investing in the INCubator program at Glenbard East High School.

On Oct. 30, West Suburban Bank Vice President for Commercial Loaning David Orr presented Glenbard East's INCubator program with a check for $7,500.

INCubator brings creativity, innovation and expert entrepreneurial guidance together in one course that allows students to jump-start their business ideas.

Glenbard East students are working in small teams to develop a business idea and collaborating with community business experts and entrepreneurs who serve as mentors and coaches, helping students see their ideas to fruition.

Students are taught by a team of coaches, mentors and the classroom teacher, to guide them through a hands-on and authentic entrepreneurial experience.

The class culminates with "Shark Tank"-style pitches at the end of the year for potential funding for students' business.
