Celebrate the end of summer at Back to School Campfire

Enjoy a night by the fire roasting marshmallows and taking a wagon ride through the prairie as we celebrate the start of school.

Back to School Campfire, sponsored by the Spring Valley Nature Club, is set for 7:30 to 9 p.m., Aug. 16 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. S'more supplies will be available to purchase for $1 for two s'mores.

"This event is a great way to get friends and family in the school spirit," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services. "This is an unforgettable night of summer fun, before students head back to school."

The event is for all ages and admission is $2 per person.
