Environmental Fair Coming to Schaumburg Township Library

All ages can experience fun demos and workshops related to protecting the environment during the Environmental Fair from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. This event is co-sponsored by the library and Village of Schaumburg Environmental Committee.

Attendees will have the opportunity to create a butterfly magnet, learn how to raise monarchs in the backyard, and visit numerous exhibits in the lobby. Exhibitors will include the Sierra Club, Spring Valley Nature Center, Schaumburg Community Garden Club, Hoffman Estates Garden Club, Schaumburg Bicycle Club, Schaumburg Township Disability Services, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, University of Illinois Master Gardeners, Illinois Native Plant Society, Village of Schaumburg and Habitat for Humanity Restore.

Collections for recyclables will also take place the day of the fair, but only on that day. Attendees are welcome to bring unwanted keys, cell phones and eyeglasses to place in specially marked bins in the lobby.
