Library Invites All Ages to Comic Con
Comic Con is returning to Schaumburg from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road. All ages are welcome to attend this free event, and costumes are encouraged. There will be costumed characters available for photo ops, Artist Alley with comic book artists and authors, fandom games, activities, and storytimes and crafts for kids. No fee or registration is required.
Local comic shops will offer comics for sale in The Commons on the library's first floor, where costumed characters will be meeting and greeting participants. In kidsZone, facepainting will take place in The Lab, Superhero Bingo in the Program Room, and Superhero Crafts in the Craft Room. Comic giveaways will take place in the Tween Space. Kids can listen to a Superhero Storytime at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. by the fireplace in the Fiction area, and participate in a fandom fashion show at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Workshop. Those who don't want to participate are welcome to watch.
On the second floor, all ages can stop by for fandom photo ops in front of the green screen, with a variety of background scenes. Patrons can also go to the second floor at 12:30 p.m. to learn to draw with artist Gene Ha. A movie screening will be held at 2 p.m. in Teen Place.
