Hundreds of Scouts compete at Klondike Derby

Three hundred Scouts and Scout Leaders gathered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. This year's theme was "Fortunes of War."

They were participating in the Chanonee and Thunderbird District's Klondike Derby. Activities included First Aid, Signaling, Bear Bag Razing, Log Sawing and more.

The Scouts competed in 35 separate Patrols showing off their leadership and scout skills.

This year's winner was the Thunderbird Patrol from Troop 23 registered to First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton.

The Thunderbirds won this event last year as well!

The Chanonee District serves Benjamin School District 25 which covers Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield.

The Thunderbird District serves Lisle, Woodridge and Naperville (Naperville Community Unit District 203), and is part of the Boy Scouts of America, Three Fires Council 127.
