Rolling Meadows' Kane wins regional bars title

Rolling Meadows junior Nicole Kane won the uneven bars competition with a 9.35 score Friday night at the Maine South regional.

Maine South won the team championship with a score of 144.4 while Conant was second at 136.775, Meadows third with 130.225 and Maine West fourth with 118.55.

Conant sophomore Danielle Smith qualified to next Thursday's Conant sectional on the vault (3rd, 9.375), the balance beam (3rd, 9.10), the floor exercise (3rd, 9.10) and the all-around (3rd, 35.875).

Also qualifying for the Couagrs were sophomore Lea Fouaz (fourth on bars), fifth all-around), junior Julia Betts (fourth on beam) and freshman Mikaela Kaminski (fifth on beam).

Maine West senior Megan Schore qualified by finishing fifth on the floor.
