Kids with cancer are the heroes at annual Kids' Party

Patients were the superheroes at the Leukemia Research Foundation's annual Kids' Party. More than 120 guests, including 35 pediatric patients, enjoyed a morning filled with activities and guest appearances.

The Chicago Blackhawks mascot, Tommy Hawk, stopped by and entertained the audience. Everyone took photos with Batman and watched a dog trick show by Robin's Dog Stars. Therapy dogs from Pet Partners of Greater Chicago wandered the crowd to the delight of attendees.

Additionally, the families enjoyed a buffet brunch, dancing and games with a DJ, and a magician. Guests received goody bags filled with toys and treats.

The party was held at the Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling.

ABC 7 Chicago covered the event. The news story is available on the Leukemia Research Foundation's YouTube channel, https://youtu.be/D0R-YYEE0HE.

"Kids' Party is an opportunity for patients and families to share a fun morning with other families," said Linda Kabot, the Leukemia Research Foundation's director of programs. "The Leukemia Research Foundation invites everyone, free of charge, to participate in this fantastic event."

Kids' Party is made possible by the support of sponsors and private donations, for which the Leukemia Research Foundation is grateful. A special thanks to the volunteers who made the event a success.
