The Kindness Connection opens new space at Northbrook Court

NORTHBROOK, IL (February, 2019) - The Kindness Connection (TKC), a local non-profit aimed at educating and inspiring children on the importance of volunteerism, will open its doors on February 23rd with a dedicated space at Northbrook Court, a mall in Northbrook, Illinois. A generous partnership with Brookfield Properties will allow The Kindness Connection to expand volunteer opportunities for children and families in a stand-alone space.

The primary focus of The Kindness Connection store-front will be to inspire children to volunteer through a multitude of available projects - from individual drop-in projects to birthday parties, team building, school and group programs. Options will range from making teddy bears for children in hospitals, to tissue boxes and vases for seniors, and chew toys for dogs in animal shelters. The recipients of these creative and functional gifts will be shelters, hospitals, early start programs, senior centers, veterans, and animal shelters. All projects can be easily accessed in the new collaborative, dynamic and welcoming workspace at Northbrook Court.

The projects will start at $12, and support donations of The Kindness Connection Classroom Kindness Kits to underserved schools and groups. The Kindness Connection has been in operation since 2006 and has provided meaningful service learning experiences in over 75 schools and organizations. In addition, 45,000 youth volunteers have created more than 50,000 projects that have been delivered to over 40 charities. The Kindness Connection inspires young volunteers and research shows that those

who volunteer as children are more likely to do so as adults.

The Kindness Connection® (TKC) is an innovative non-profit 501(c)3 organization that addresses a unique niche in the volunteer service arena by specializing in the creation and implementation of volunteer experiences that positively impact all children.
