District 200's Student Excellence Foundation to host STEM Expo Nov. 9

The Student Excellence Foundation's annual STEM Expo is coming up soon!

Students and their families can spend a fun evening visiting over 40 hands-on exhibits and participating in exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) experiments on Friday, Nov. 9, at Hubble Middle School in Warrenville.

General admission will be 6:30 to 9 p.m., with a special needs preview from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

This event is geared toward elementary and middle school students; all students should be accompanied by an adult.

For a taste of what you'll see there, here are some of our participating exhibitors: Argonne National Laboratory, Beckatt Solutions, DuPage Children's Museum, Electric Mosaic, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, Jerry Evans School of Music, Hawthorne School's Ecology Club, Huskie Robotics: FIRST Team 3061, Lincoln Marsh Natural Area, Lauer Foundation for Paleontology, Science and Education, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, Naperville Astronomical Association, PWNAGE Robotics, PWNAGE VEX TEAMS, The Button Man, Tower Garden- Vertical Hydroponics, Triton College, Two Beekeepers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Warrenville Public Library District, Wheaton Chemistry Society and Society of Physics Students, Wheaton Park District's Lincoln Marsh Natural Area, Wheaton Public Library, Wheaton Sanitary District, and the Wheaton Warrenville Special Needs PTA.

Exhibits will open early at 5:30 p.m. to families with special needs. The quieter exhibits will be in the commons area as well as the large gym. Robotics will be in the small gym. The STEM Expo opens to the general public at 6:30 p.m., and special needs families are welcome to stay for the remainder of the event.

When you reserve a special needs preview ticket, you have access to the entire event; you do not need to reserve a general admission ticket as well.

This event is very popular and has sold out in the past, so reserve your tickets in advance to ensure your admission to the expo.

The suggested donation is $5 per participant.

Hubble Middle School is located at 3S600 Herrick Road in Warrenville. Enter the STEM Expo through the main entrance, Door #1. Parking is available at the school but please carpool if possible.
