Residents Receive Special Hand Painted Portraits

VERNON HILLS, IL, October 5, 2018 - Having your portrait taken is a special occasion and a wonderful gift to give loved ones and friends. But what about a hand-painted one of a kind portrait? Residents at Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes were recently provided such a gift by professional artist.

Dean Fisher, son of Brookdale resident Sharon Salyers, is a professional artist who has had paintings exhibited throughout the U.S. Recently, during his visits to his mother, he spent two hours each day in the lobby painting portraits of residents.

Not only did he paint the portraits for free, he then gifted those to the residents he painted.

The seniors at Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes extend their appreciation and gratitude for such a special act of kindness.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES:

• Interview Brookdale residents about their portraits and what it means for a local artist to take interest in them.

• Take pictures and/or video of the seniors with their portraits.

For more information about the event contact Heather Lannon, resident services director, at (847) 996-1706 or hlannon@brookdale.com.
