Library's Concert Season Continues Through Early August

Big band, children's music, mambo and the sounds of the 1970s will be among the Schaumburg Library's upcoming musical performances in Town Square at the corner of Roselle and Schaumburg roads. These outdoor concerts are free and do not require registration. Audience members are welcome to bring snacks, beverages, blankets and lawn chairs, but not pets.

Coming next to Town Square is Big Band Boom, 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, July 16. This modern jazz big band recreates music from the 1920s, '30s, '40s and '50s.

Classical music will meld with rock hits as Classical Blast takes the stage from 6:45 -8:15 p.m., Monday, July 23. All ages will enjoy rocking out to new adaptations of Beethoven, Bach and more.

Town Square switches gears from music to comedy with an Improv Performance from Laugh Out Loud Theater from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 25. Laugh Out Loud's comedic scenes, games and songs are appropriate for all ages.

The energetic Super Stolie will entertain families from 7-7:45 p.m., Monday, July 30 with creativity to inspire the uniqueness in kids.

An array of Latin music will fill the air as the 911 Mambo Orchestra performs from 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, July 30. Audience members may want to move their feet and swing their hips to music that includes tropical sounds to traditional Mambo from the 1950s.

All ages are welcome to celebrate Harry Potter's birthday with wizard rock band Tonks and the Aurors from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 31. This performance will immediately follow the Happy Birthday, Harry Potter event that takes place inside the library from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Relive the classic sounds of the 1970s as the band 1976 plays beloved songs from Fleetwood Mac, Peter Frampton, Heart, Boston and many others from 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, Aug. 6.
