Novice and seasoned writers alike are invited to "Inside Writing and Publishing," a series of free workshops beginning this Thursday at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Register online at schaumburglibrary.org or by calling (847) 923-3347.

"Inside Writing and Publishing" is an annual series of free seminars on specific writing and publishing topics, offered from March through May by north suburban area libraries. The STDL workshops will begin with "How to Write When Everything Goes Wrong" from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, April 5, in the library's Adult Classroom. Multi-published author Allie Pleiter will share strategies from her book to help writers write anywhere, anytime and under any conditions without getting derailed.

The second program in the series will be "Writing Tips from Bollywood Films" from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 3 in the Adult Classroom. Author Sonali Dev will show film clips and demonstrate how to use the three pillars of Bollywood blockbusters - chemistry, conflict and drama - to ramp up the emotional quotient of a novel.

"Coping with your Inner Critic" will be the final program in the series and takes place from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, May 31 in the Adult Classroom. Author Carmela Martino will help writers of all levels and genres learn to transform their inner critic into an ally and writing assistant.

Registration is required for all of the "Inside Writing and Publishing" workshops. For a full listing of upcoming Schaumburg Library programs, see the April-May Guide which is mailed to Schaumburg Township residents and available within the library or online at www.SchaumburgLibrary.org.
