Des Plaines Art Guild Celebrates 65 Years!

The public is invited to join in the celebration of the Des Plaines Art Guild's 65th Anniversary on Friday, April 6th at the Brickton Art Center and Gallery, 306 Busse Highway, in Park Ridge from 6:00-8:00 pm.

The history of the Des Plaines Art Guild goes back to June 1953, when a reporter for a local newspaper sent letters to ten artists in the Des Plaines area suggesting the establishment of an art league. On July 7, 1953 the first meeting of the group was held. Officers were elected at the second meeting and by the third meeting a constitution was accepted naming the group the Des Plaines Art Guild.

Many members have come and sadly gone in the sixty-five years, but many friendships have lasted a lifetime. The DPAG and our friends from the Park Ridge Art League invite you and your friends to join us for our celebration. The highlight of the evening will be the Anniversary Members Show and Silent Auction which will feature artwork from members past and present.

Artwork will be on display through April 26th. Hours of operation for the Brickton Art Center are Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm; Saturday, 10:00 am-2:00 pm; closed Fridays and Sundays.
