I took this photograph in my front yard in Lisle, IL. I love this photograph because it is the first year for this garden. I planted plants that would attract birds, hummingbirds and butterflies. My hard work paid off. I did not expect them to find my garden so quickly, but the did. I did not originally have a finch feeder, but added it because there were so many in my bird bath and I felt bad that I did not have anything they liked to eat.

This photo was taken at the Oakbrook Graue Mill on a 94 degree day. The blue heron was enjoying being underneath the waterfall letting the water splash on him.I was able to shoot over 100 photo's of him enjoying his day.

This sequence was photographed over a 30 or so hour range. It's a series of pics showing the blooming of a poppy in my garden. It was fun to watch its progress as it developed from its early stages to a fully bloomed flower. A relatively short time to transform from its beginning to its peak. I'm glad we don't go that fast!

This swan was swimming in the lagoon at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. I was attracted to this subject's simplicity and grace as well as the ripples and reflections in the water.
