This Red-bellied Woodpecker stops by the bird feeder occasionally, but he is much more interested in the tree nearby. His bright red cap makes him easy to spot, though he is seldom still, making him a challenge to photograph. He almost seemed to pose for a brief second, then went back to work.

Mike Weimer of St. CharlesDuring an April trip to Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL, I photographed these colorful tulip beds with the backlight highlighting the petals. I appreciated how the gardeners had planted some cool purple tulips to complement the main warm orange and yellow tulips.
Emily Ortmann of AlgonquinThis was taken downtown Chicago a week or so ago.
Tami Bone of GenevaI took this picture of the beautiful lilies at my daughter's house this week. I had been there three days earlier and they were not blooming at all. What a difference three days can make. I like the difference in coloring between the blooms at the top of the picture and the blooms at the bottom due to the way the sunlight hits the petals.
