Woodlands Academy Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent
Two Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart seniors have committed to college athletics programs. Caylee Hamilton of Wadsworth will join the Division III swimming program at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, next year. Mia OBerto of Zion will join the Division III softball program at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
Hamilton and OBerto both signed their letters of intent at a joint ceremony held in their honor at Woodlands Academy, surrounded by coaches, parents and fellow students.
Hamilton has advanced to the IHSA girls' state swimming meet for the past three years. She was the first Woodlands Academy swimmer to compete at the state level.
OBerto has been named an all-conference player for the past three years. In 2015, she was named the Independent School League Player of the year.
"Both of these athletes have worked incredibly hard to get to where they are today," says Rosemary Briesch, Woodlands Academy athletic director. "We are so proud of their accomplishments and know each will contribute greatly to their respective college programs."
