Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital recognized for outstanding patient safety record

Downers Grove, Ill - The Leapfrog Group today announced that Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital earned an A grade for excellence in patient safety. Good Samaritan Hospital has achieved straight "A's" since the national patient safety watchdog began its analysis of safety measures in 2012 and is one of 72 hospitals out of over 2,600 across the country to attain this honor.

Leapfrog analysts use publicly available data to look at 30 different safety measures and assign grades based on how well hospitals are doing to protect patients from harm. Measurements include the hospital's ability to prevent errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

More than 2,600 hospitals across the nation are graded, including 113 Illinois hospitals.
