On Sept. 24th, Five Seasons Burr Ridges Hosts Row-Bike-Run Triathlon

A triathlon with a twist is on tap at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Burr Ridge on Saturday, September 24th.

The event, open to the public and accommodating a variety of skill and age levels to embrace a wide spectrum of participants, is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the club, 6901 S. Madison. It will be a row-bike-run sequence, with the row supplanting the portion traditionally allocated to swimming.

Participants will simulate rowing via one of several row machines inside the club's state-of-the-art fitness center, said Five Seasons Director of Fitness Morgan Fox.

"We wanted to create an outlet that is a little different than the average novelty 5K," Fox said. "We will have both men's and women's divisions along with scaled divisions for kids, and anyone newer to racing that needs shorter distances."

The longest adult distances call for a 5,000-meter (5K) run, a 12-mile bike and a 3,000-meter (3K) row, while the all-ages children's division will consist of a one-mile run/walk, a two-mile bike, and a 250-meter row.

Anyone who signs up before September 15th will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event. The fee is $20 for members, and $25 for others.
