Refrigerator pickles
3 quarts raw pickles, cut into ⅓-inch slices
2 onions, chopped
1 to 2 red peppers, chopped
⅓ cup salt
1 teaspoon celery salt
3 cups sugar
2 cups vinegar
Place all ingredients into a large bowl or nonreactive pot. Mix well and cover. Place in the refrigerator. Mix after several hours. They are ready to serve in 24 hours. They also can be kept up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
