LifeSource to host June 27 Blackhawks blood drive in McHenry

LifeSource will celebrate the Chicago Blackhawks' 2015 season - and its loyal fans - by hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at McHenry Township Fire Protection District, 3610 W. Elm St., McHenry.

Blackhawks fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite team attire.

Participating donors will be entered into a random drawing for an autographed Denis Savard poster; replica Blackhawks jersey autographed by Niklas Hjalmarsson; and Chicago Blackhawks autographed cap raffle every hour.

Participating donors who schedule and keep their appointment will be automatically entered into a random drawing to win a weekend package to the eighth annual Blackhawks Convention, July 17-19. Package includes two passes to the entire convention plus a two-night hotel stay.

Appointments for LifeSource blood drives are preferred, but all walk-ins are welcome. Donors can schedule their appointment by calling LifeSource at (877) 543-3768 or visiting www.lifesource.org, and using the sponsor code 540C. Donors with appointments will be served in precedence to walk-ins.

Along with hosting daily blood drives, LifeSource operates 19 community donor centers and four fixed sites with regular operating days and hours. In preparation for their donation, donors are asked to eat well, stay hydrated and arrive with proper identification.
