I had the good fortune to be assigned to photograph spring flowers in full bloom at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. I loved how these tulips were slightly backlit by the late morning sun. Shyly turning away with a Great Southern White butterfly on her head is six-year-old Lauren Opdyke of Geneva, during the re-opening of Geneva Park District's Butterfly House at its Adopt a Butterfly Party, Friday. This year more than 300 total and five different types of butterflies were released by more than 100 people during the 11th annual event. The insects made the long trip from Florida to be released Friday.
