BrightSide Theatre Supports WDSRA during Production of Bleacher Bums

BrightSide Theatre, Naperville's only professional theatre performing in the historic downtown district is "paying it forward." This season, BrightSide will be supporting the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Foundation during its production of Bleacher Bums, playing March 20-30, at the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall at North Central College, 31 S. Ellsworth Avenue in Naperville.

As a way to give back to the community, BrightSide will be highlighting the work of WDSRA and encouraging audience members to offer a donation to the charity. Every donor will receive a chance to win a pair of tickets to a BrightSide Theatre's next production.

WDSRA provides engaging, community-based recreational programs and inclusion services for children, teens, and adults with special needs. WDSRA offers Special Olympics, adapted sports, dance and art programs, camps, trips, special events, and more. WDSRA's mission, the development of individuals through recreation, makes it possible for the more than 4,500 individuals served to grow personally, connect with their community and discover their potential.

Bleacher Bums was conceived by Chicago's very own Joe Mantegna and written by The Organic Theater Company. It is a light and fun nine-inning slice-of-life comedy that takes place in the bleachers of Wrigley Field as a group of colorful and devoted fans watch their beloved Chicago Cubs play their dreaded rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals.
