‘Willy Wonka Junior’ in Schaumburg Nov. 22-24
Schaumburg Park District is visiting a land of pure imagination this fall.
The district’s theater program will perform Roald Dahl’s ‘Willy Wonka Junior’ at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov. 23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.
“The lively production features talented local children and young adults in classic Wonka roles,” said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor. “This production is perfect for audiences of all ages.”
The musical follows candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five candy bars. Whoever finds the tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory and a lifetime supply of candy. Charlie Bucket, a young likable winner, and his grandfather along with four bratty winners must learn to follow the rules of Wonka’s factory or suffer the consequences on the tour.
Tickets are $11 for ages 13 years and older, and $6 for children. Children younger than age 2 are free, if held.
