Westminster, Elgin Academy each send one to state

Westminster Christian senior Connor Rejman and Elgin Academy sophomore Frankie Bisconti each qualified for this weekend’s Class 1A state boys golf tournament out of the Byron sectional at Prairie View Monday.

Rejman, a regional champion, shot an 80 to move on and Bisconti had an 81.

North Shore Country Day (311), Byron (315) and Stockton (32) advanced as teams. Westminster shot a 347 to finish fifth.

North Shore’s Andrew Biechman was medalist with a 74.

The Class 1A state finals are Friday and Saturday at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.
