Wauconda, Lakes pick up Prairie wins

Wauconda 2, Antioch 1: Brendan Morales scored on a penalty kick and Jovanni Lazaro finished a pass from Teddy Kolarov, as the Bulldogs (4-4-2) captured the North Suburban Prairie match.
Lakes 3, Round Lake 1: John Borzick scored the Eagles’ first goal and assisted on the last one, by Joey Savino.
Brian Werchek also scored for Lakes (4-3, 2-0) in the North Suburban Prairie match. Werchek headed in Tom Cyberski’s corner kick. Lakes goalies Kevin Ray and Jack Munson each made 6 saves.
Libertyville 4, Washington 3: Tanner Sanks, Nick Vogel, Lloyd Chatfield and Carlos Schultz scored for the Wildcats in the Pepsi Showdown game. Vogel and Chatfield had assists, as well.
Warren 3, Leyden 2 (2 OT): Karl Bappert scored off a pass from Elijah Parker with two minutes left in the second overtime, as the Blue Devils prevailed in the Pepsi Showdown match.
Nick Haas added a goal and an assist, and Rafa Macias also scored for Warren (5-1-3). Hector Salazar had an assist as well for the Blue Devils.
Vernon Hills 3, North Chicago 3: The Cougars couldn’t protect a 3-1 halftime lead against the host Warhawks and settled for a draw in the North Suburban Prairie contest.
“We have some talent but lack the aggressive nature up top so far this year,” Vernon Hills coach Mike McCaulou said. “We played well the first half but made way too many mental mistakes in the game. We have to play an entire 80 (minutes) to be a quality team.”
Grayslake Central 4, Jacobs 2: Isaac Longenecker scored twice for the Rams in the Fox Valley contest.
Jonny Madrid and Joey Mudd also scored for Grayslake Central. Madrid, Jackson Frey and Alex Stickler had assists.
