Cary Physical Therapy announces partnership with Norge Ski Club

Cary Physical Therapy recently joined forces with Norge Ski Club of Fox River Grove. The mission is to increase performance and improve safety of the Junior Program members.

Norge is the oldest continuously open ski club in the United States and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2005.

The junior ski jumpers are ranked nationally with Olympic potential. Cary Physical Therapy, celebrating its 20thanniversary this year, devised a screening assessment for the athletes and is applying its expertise as movement specialists in creating customized exercises for the jumpers.

The program includes Pilates, stretching, and strengthening exercises, and balance and coordination activities to activate the correct muscles used in jumping.

“These kids are great to work with because they are highly motivated”, says Deb Gulbrandson, owner of Cary Physical Therapy. “Our job is not to teach technique which is the coaches' domain. Our job is to determine the physical limitations which are preventing the jumper from being the very best athlete that they can possibly be!
