Cary Park District Hosts Prairie Day

The Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) is celebrating Conservation Day during the 2013 Illinois State Fair. In recognition of Conservation Day, the Cary Park District is hosting a free prairie walk open to all residents. The walk, lead by a local biologist and naturalist, will educate participants on prairie plants, birds, insects and the stories of families, building, and features of Wallace Farm.

The prairie walk will be held on Saturday, August 24 beginning at 10:00 am at Sands Main Street Prairie located on East Main Street, east of Decker Drive. Bring the entire family and learn the history and dynamics of one of Cary's rarest and most unique parks. This program is free and will consist of light walking and will last about one hour.

Visit www.carypark.com or call the Cary Park District at 847-639-6100 for more information.
