District Governor visits McHenry Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of McHenry welcomed Sarah Oliver, District 6440 Governor, to their meeting on July 25th at the McHenry Country Club. She brought with her, Assistant Governor, Tina Curtis of the Carpentersville Morning Rotary Club. Governor Oliver recognized Ron and Linda Bykowski, and their son-in-law, Dave Geils, Jr. (who could not be present) as Paul Harris Fellows. This honor is bestowed upon persons who have demonstrated the Rotary value of “service above self” and made a significant financial gift to the Rotary Foundation.

Governor Oliver was introduced by Club President, Tom Webb, and gave a challenging address portraying a Rotary Club as “family” and encouraging developing fellowship among present members and growth of the club to those who need to be “adopted” into membership. She also reminded members of the positive work done by Polio Plus and briefly outlined significant changes to Rotary Foundation guidelines. Sarah is a member of the Wilmette Sunrise Rotary Club and has traveled all over the world for Rotary International. District Governor's terms (as with all Rotary leaders) begin July 1st and end June 30th of the next year.
