Woman seriously hurt in McHenry motorized scooter accident

A 51-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries Saturday after a McHenry accident involving a motorized scooter, officials said.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 8:21 p.m. to the 5800 block of Fieldstone Trail and found the victim lying on the roadside. She was conscious but suffering from “multiple traumatic injuries,” according to a news release.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District took her to a Flight for Life helipad, and she was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Firefighters said McHenry police were investigating.
