Schaumburg parks recognizes Daily Herald for commitment to community health

The Schaumburg Park District Board of Commissioners recognized the Daily Herald for its Fittest Loser Community Challenge competition at the Thursday, June 13, park board meeting at the Jerry Handlon Administration Building, 235 E. Beech Drive. The news organization is committed to community health, well-being and fitness.

The district’s Waist Management team won this year’s Fittest Loser Community Challenge in early May. The team lost 15.02 percent of its members’ total body weight. The Daily Herald declared a tie between individual winners Ed Poczatek and Stacey Sosa, both from different Schaumburg teams. Poczatek lost 44.6 pounds and Sosa lost 44.8 pounds.
