Employment seekers invited to attend job, resource fair

Waubonsee Community College will host its second annual Kendall County Job and Resource Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, at its Plano campus, 100 Waubonsee Drive.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide job opportunities, resources and strategies to help individuals thrive in a challenging economy.

Employers from the Kendall County area will be on hand to discuss their current job openings. Several community organizations also will be there to provide information about their services.

Two panels of employers will discuss “How to Overcome Barriers to Employment” and share “Insiders’ Job Search Tips and Techniques.” Job seekers can participate in a demonstration of the Optimal Resume software tool or take advantage of a computer resource room to submit online applications.

Transportation to and from the event is being provided by Kendall Area Transit for $3 round trip. Call (877) 446-4528 to schedule a ride.

The Kendall County Job Resource Fair is the result of a collaborative effort among several communities and organizations.
